A gamified event-app built for gamers

Brief

DreamHack is where gamers from all multiverses and backgrounds come together for a weekend packed with experiences: esports, cosplay, tabletop gaming, panels, workshops, and much more. To help visitors navigate these massive events, we partnered with DreamHack to redesign and continuously develop their mobile platform.

Solution

With the DreamHack app, users can view the event layout, explore activities, set notifications for favourite events, and build a personalised schedule. But beyond standard event-app features, it caters specifically to gamers, offering you to complete challenges, gather achievements, and compete against your friends on the leaderboards.

Result

Using gamification to nudge visitors in exploring the DreamHack events makes for a fun and more immersive experience. From a business perspective, it’s also an effective way to drive traffic to partner and vendor booths. Completing challenges unlocks rewards like merch and free samples, redeemable by showing in-app codes at designated locations.
