Team or individual consultants: the difference in accountability

Hiring a consultant solves a skills gap, but doesn’t transfer accountability for the whole. An individual consultant may have a lower hourly rate, but if you have to spend your own time coordinating, defining requirements, and putting the parts together, that “saving” is often illusory. A team that owns the whole costs more per hour but less in your own time and risk.
